Our Story
Wolf & Wren Press began with two best friends, a love of drawing, and a shared obsession with making things.
Lauren Stapleton and Liz Wolf have been best friends since sixth grade. When Lauren moved to Colorado for college, the two friends never lived in the same city again—but that didn’t stop them from finding ways to create together. In 2011, they combined their talents and started Wolf & Wren Press, a stationery company built around clever words, distinctive illustration, and the simple joy of putting something thoughtful in someone’s hands.
What started as a small letterpress studio has grown into a collection of greeting cards and paper goods made using both old and new tools. Lauren and Liz bring their own artistic styles and handwritten words to the work, collaborating from hundreds of miles apart to create products that feel personal, unexpected, and a little bit delightful.
We still love the magic of letterpress—the impression of ink into paper, the tactile quality, and the connection to a centuries-old craft. But we’re not interested in being stuck in the past. We use whatever tools and processes help us make the best version of an idea, from antique printing presses to modern digital printing.
At the heart of Wolf & Wren is the belief that the little things matter. A card can make someone laugh, brighten a hard day, celebrate a milestone, or simply say, “I was thinking about you.” We make things we want to send, give, keep, and share.
Wolf & Wren Press is based in Longmont, Colorado and is a member of 1% for the Planet.
